Message Hi Tim,

Thanks for the invitation to join in...here's some additional information on the car's history...

Everyone,

My car has been with me a bit over three years. I purchased it from an Oldsmobile/Benz dealership here in Ohio. With 89,000 miles on it at the time a partial body kit and stock Bose I thought it a good buy at $10,800 given the shape of the body and interior. I made an offer and asked if they had any history on the car.

The previous owner left a few receipts along with the manual for the car when he traded it. Receipt #1 was for the HKS intake system, the second was hand-written one for installation of a "Stillen cam"...I've made a conservative estimation based on the feel of the car that it is the "mild" cam Stillen offers. Other mods at the time were NGK plugs and an HKS (not to be confused with the current HKSA) exhaust system.

One of the reason I bought it was that it felt stronger upon my test drive than some stock TT's. Since then I've done some considerable modifications to the exterior, interior, etc. as I've attempted to detail on the car's website.

In summer, 2001 I had the car dyno'd. The result was 234.7 RWHP - the best of three pulls. OK, I rounded .3 HP...wouldn't you? Winter, 2001 I pulled the cracked HKS exhaust (a result of the Great Z-ed Away in Kingston, Ontario), older NGKs, oiled/cleaned the intake element and began a cleaning/lightening process to compensate for stereo, leather, and yes....I bought a blue neon kit (sue me). There is no spare, thought I do have room for it...most of the non-load bearing screws and fasteners are aluminum or titanium depending on the stress they'd endure.

My brother in law and I had the engine torn down that Winter as part of the reconditioning process - upper and lower intake were previously ported (but apparently not externally polished), and we even went to the point of tearing down the heads to see if anything else was evidently not stock. Granted, I have no receipts, but I believe the engine had been rebuilt and possibly modified. She has 104K on the odo. now but doesn't perform like it.

I hope to perform a swap next year, winter of 2003 with a list of mods to push over a target 400rwhp. Current budget doesn't allow...I'm hoping to get the wireless stuff worked out with an on-board SBC before spring for my on-board personal entertainment system.
